Things are getting exciting over here at MicroPlace and it’s not just the Nov 4 election that has people revved up.  We’re turning one year old this month and wow, what a ride it’s been.  In our first year, you believed enough in the power of microfinance and MicroPlace to enable over 26,000 loans to hard working poor people across the globe.  Holy cow.  Talk about folks putting their money where their mouth is (or should we say their PayPal account where their principles are?)  That also means that MicroPlace, in its first year of business, grew faster than any other consumer microfinance site IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD did.

Double holy cow.

So, we’re excited.  And we’re celebrating.  And we’re throwing a party. 

And guess who’s coming to our party?  Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner and father of microfinance!  Do you think he will sign my baseball cap?  Do you? Do you?MicroPlace is also inviting all investors to come join us at the event in San Jose, California from 12:30-1:30pm on Thursday, November 13th as it is you, the investors, who made this all possible.

If you want to come, you kind of have to be an investor.  So if you’re not, what are you waiting for?  Invest and then send an email with your first and last names to rkiker@microplace.com.  If you want to come to the event but are intimidated by our $20 minimum investment requirement, well, I guess you can probably hang around the outside and peer in through the windows.

Legal mumbo-jumbo:  Space is limited to one ticket per investor and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  A few days before the event we will email you at this email address with further information with detailed directions and instructions.
